Image SNOWY CURLED UP

Greyhound Rescue received a letter along with the two photographs above to let us know what had happened to Micky and Snowy after the lady saw them on our website under the rehoming section. This very kind lady has told us that she picked up Snowy from the RSPCA at Bawtry at the end of May 2007. Poor Micky had to be put to sleep by the RSPCA as when he went to be neutered they found he had cancer. Snowy looked quite miserable in kennels but now she is being spoilt with lots of walks, she enjoys watching squirrels! Snowy is fit and well apart from a slight incontinence problem for which she is being treated.

This is a letter from Hannah's new Mum!

I really want to thank you Karen for matching me to the perfect greyhound. I don't know how you do it, i can't believe Anna (Hannah) has been with me less than 6 months. She is such a dainty little sweetheart with her own fanclub in Ambleside, everyone loves her and I, of course, am besotted. She does have a talent for shoplifting soft toys though, she has perfected the art of picking them up without turning her head or missing a stride, she is so funny that no one minds, except Anna when i take them back. I also have to watch out for furry gloves sticking out of pockets, furry toys dangling from pushchairs; in fact, you would be amazed at how many furry objects you can pass in one day! She even tried gently removing a women's furry gloves from her hands today while she was stroking her. Anna will also help herself to apples and bananas, i have never know a dog love fruit and veg so much, especially bananas, a very healthy girl.

From being a very dainty miss who would not step in a puddle, she now happily plothers through anything and takes everything in her stride. We went for very short walks at first until her pads toughened up and she got used to her new surroundings, she now has her favourite walks, which usually means the ones where she sees the most rabbits of course. I made the mistake of buying her a soft toy that quacked so now she is very interested in ducks. You live and learn.

She gets on well with Smokey the cat after a period of jealousy where she did not like him getting any attention from me. She even leaves his cat food alone except when she is being naughty to get my attention. She loves to snuggle up on the sofa of course, comes upstairs to bed at night and is the first dog ever allowed on my bed for a morning cuddle, spoilt rotten in fact. She found her own way of asking to go out into the garden by wandering around with either a packet of poo bags or my garden shoe in her mouth, when she wants to go for a walk she carries a walking shoe, who says greyhounds are not intelligent. My son's just come home from a year of teaching in China, Anna is finding lots of new "toys" in his room, she comes running past me on the way to her bed with yet another treasure in her mouth, Glyn hot on her heels, it is fun seeing them get to know each other!

Once again, thank you for a perfect companion, i love her to bits, Kindest Regards Linda.

Blaze has finally come home with us, the furry badger (his new nickname – he has a black & white striped face like a badger). I’m sending you some pix of his first days with us. He is very well adjusted and seems to like home life. He’s not so keen on horses or non greyhound dogs – but hey we will sort that out. We have a dog whisperer type of lady coming to see him on Saturday – he needs find some sort of peace and believe me - he will, and he will be loved to bits.
