It is with great sadness that we have lost one of our elderly ladies, Gem. On the 12th of March she lost her battle with cancer. The only option for us was to have her put to rest while she still had some dignity. Gem along with her daughter Opal were re-homed but through no fault of their own they were returned to us. It's a very sad event when some of our dogs never get to live within a loving family environment and their only chance is to end their natural life in rescue. Of course we love them all dearly and have an awful lot of pentioners here, but nothing can compensate for that special home life. Night Night and God bless Gem. From all at Greyhound Rescue and your special Opal.
A big void at the rescue has been left with the sad loss of a dear character, Campbell. He came to us 8 years ago as a stray from Scunthorpe Police station. After gaining his trust from obviously a bad trauma he has suffered at some stage, he became a special addition in all our lives. because of his nervousness on arrival he lived in the rescues house and gradually became the leader of his harem of bitches he shared with. He loved his life, his girls, everything, always greeting visitors with his teddy in his mouth. He knew he was special to us all, even as he became ill he always tried to please everyone. God bless, good night Campbell, you'll be remembered with love always.
