SAD LOSS OF BLUE PDF Print E-mail

One of our owners has had a very sudden and heartbreaking loss of Blue , you may have known him as Baloo. Here is their story...

He adopted us nearly 5 years ago after sensing our heartbreak at losing our first greyhound, Miller.

Blue was ok one day and the next day he wasn’t. The vet said it was probably a tumour that burst, he didn’t have any symptoms at all and he, more importantly, did not suffer any pain.

He was a wonderful, handsome boy, such a ladykiller and what a character he had. He loved racing about and chasing his toys especially his giggle ball, sent him nuts. We taught him to ask for treats and boy did he ask!!!!

He liked to slink into the lounge, circle around 2 or 3 times then very elegantly flop on the floor, only to flip over on to his back for his chest & tummy to be stroked. After he’d had enough stroking he would commence battle (with paws) with either David or myself, when he had won he’d slink off upstairs to his bedroom – yes he did have his own bedroom with duvet placed under the radiator – dog’s life eh!

Blue was our life for nearly 5 years and we miss him so much, the house is so silent and empty now. But that is going to change in March, we went to see Karen and we are taking Blaze aka the furry badger!!!! I christened him that because his stripey face. We can’t wait!! Hope you like the pix.
